Filipino food is one kind of food that I’ve never tried before. On my last visit to Singapore, my friend invited me to this restaurant in Lucky Plaza Food Court. Since I didn’t know anything about it, I let her ordered for us while I and another friend were sitting on empty seats. It is hard to find a place to sit during peak hour and we were lucky enough to get it close to the food stall.
The stall called Lutong Pinoy. There were many Filipinos around enjoying the food from this stall. That is why I called it Authentic Filipino Food 😀 My friend also knew it from her Filipino friend. After waiting for a short time, she came back with a big bowl of bone soup! We have similar dish in Indonesia, called oxtail soup. This one called Bulalo. It was tasty, especially if you added lime before. But it was a bit beefy for my taste. The strong smell of beef was still there, so if you don’t like the smell better do not order this dish. Although I must say, you should try it at least. The portion was big! It was enough for the 3 of us.
Another dish she ordered was Sisig. It came with a raw egg on top and she had to mix it immediately while the plate still hot. This dish didn’t look interesting at all but the taste was to die for! It was very delicious. I asked my friend what’s in there, and when she mentioned it halfway I asked her to stop. I don’t care what’s in there anymore! It is good and that is the only one you need to know 😀 In case you’re wondering, it’s a part of pork, not beef or chicken.
The total cost for 2 dishes and 3 steamed rice were SGD 26. It was quite cheap for a full happy tummy.
