Ramen Bar Masamune – new in Saigon!

There is a new ramen place in Le Thanh Ton street, at intersection with Thai Van Lung street. I don’t know the number but I’m sure you won’t miss it when you pass by. The place looks fancy from outside, and it is also fancy inside for a ramen place.

Their ramen is different style than Ramen Danbo. They have a clear soup and the flavours are only shio or shoyu (and the special one. I ordered shoyu ramen, while my husband ordered shio ramen. We also ordered fried chicken.

It was pretty good I must say. Crispy outside and juicy inside. The taste was delicious as well.

This is shoyu ramen. Their broth is not as rich as tonkotsu ramen but still delicious. It was refreshing to eat different type of ramen. The noodle was cooked nicely. We loved their texture that was a little bit chewy but soft as well. One thing bothered me was the smokey smell from the pork. It was really strong that the whole soup tasted smokey. But we both agreed that this smokey pork is the best pork meat on ramen so far!

The ramen was 120k vnd per portion. And fried chicken was 110k vnd. The price quite high between ramen places in Ho chi Minh City. It is a good change though from the tonkotsu style ramen.

How about you? Do you like a thick broth ramen or clear soup ramen? Let me know in comment 😉

Ciao!

Ramen Danbo – the best in town

As a fan of Japanese Ramen, I never missed out information about good ramen in Saigon and of course went there to try it! First time I read about this ramen was last year, from one of the group in Facebook called Foodies in Saigon. Many people seemed to like this place so I went there, but they were closed for renovation 😦

After a while, I read that they were opened again after renovation, but I hadn’t had time to go there. Until recently…

I invited my husband, who is a ramen lover as well, to join me on ramen testing! We came there just in time before all seats were taken. The customer after us were sent away because they were full. It’s interesting though how they treat the situation. They prefer to send the customer away rather than asking them to wait. They are really allowing time for existed customer to finish their food without hurry. So if you would come there in group, it is better to make reservation.

The waitress gave us menu and we had to write down our choice on order sheet. One sheet per person. Customized for each person.

I ordered Chasu Tonkotsu Ramen without additional topping. Noodle stiffness level was medium. And everything else was normal/medium as well. I used to do it to know how the taste should be. I didn’t order drink because they gave us cold water already. For free.

While waiting for the ramen to be cooked, I looked around at my table. They have beansprout dish, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, pepper, and red chili to be added to our food, if we want. They also provided rubber band! How thoughtful. Ladies, don’t worry if you don’t bring hair clip! You can use rubber band and eat ramen comfortably!

Chasu Tonkatsu Ramen Danbo

Tadaa! I mixed the red sauce with the broth and then sipped it. Yummy!! This ramen is really delicious! Something was not feel right for me when I ate this ramen. Apparently, the noodle. I should have ordered stiff noodle. I tried that noodle on my husband’s ramen and it was soooo good! Next time I will order stiff noodle instead of medium. The pork was sliced thin and was yummy as well. It’s a complete package!

Fried Chicken @ Ramen Danbo

We tried their fried chicken as well. And it was awesome! The chicken was cooked really well but still soft and juicy. They marinated the chicken so it didn’t taste plain. Had some flavor on it. I used the salt pepper and the mayonnaise as well ! I like salty food 😀

All in all, it was a great ramen experience! Definitely come back and recommend it to all of you!

Thank you for reading! Ciao.

Ramen Pasta Osaka

I like this ramen place. I think it’s the best ramen restaurant in ho chi minh city so far. My favorite menu is tsukemen or dip ramen. Almost everytime I came here I ordered that.

That night I went there again with my husband. He also a fan of tsukemen. To prevent ourself on getting bored of it, we ordered something different. Mine was ramen with garlic chips. It was nice but I don’t want to talk about that dish now.

Pasta Fu Pirikara kurimu ramen

I want to share about the ramen pasta that my husband ordered, it’s called Pasta Fu Pirikara Kurimu Ramen. When it came, we looked at it with low expectation. I’m not a fan of creamy pasta. He tried it first then gave it to me to try.

I looked up to him, smilling. It was delicious! The noodle is cooked well, and the creamy sauce is tasty. It made me want to eat more, but I shouldn’t because I have my own ramen noodle to finish.

Very recommended to try! If you want to try it, come to 18 Thai Van Lung Street, Ho Chi Minh City.
